The Artist

As a teenager, Maryan Grimm had a strong interest in art. She studied fashion at world acclaimed ESMOD in Paris and started her career as a fashion designer in the 1980’s. Some of her designs were sold in Paris at major department stores such as “Galeries Lafayette” and “Printemps” and published in “Elle” and “Cosmopolitain” magazines. They were also displayed on billboards throughout Paris.

When she moved to Los Angeles in 1990 she continued designing and manufacturing ladies apparel. She had showrooms in New York and Los Angeles, in addition to a store in Beverly Hills.

In 1998 she obtained a permit to open a school of fashion design called “French Fashion Academy”. Shortly after she moved to Monterey, California with her husband Bill and retired from the fashion industry due to the lack of manufacturing facilities in Monterey area.

The endless beauty of the Monterey Peninsulas area inspired her. She reconnected to her original passion, which was painting. Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach captured her heart since she always had a passion for collectible cars.

Besides hand paintings, Maryan uses a combination of digital techniques to create unique images. Giclee is often used to reproduce her original paintings on large canvas which look as stunning as the originals. She can also do a trilogy of paintings adding a powerful impact to a large wall, making the space become alive.

Maryan’s “Wine Collection” paintings can be customized by adding a personalized message on the label of a world-famous wine. This can be a one of a kind gift for any occasion.

“Custom Portraits” on any size canvas is also part of what she offers.
